Q & A

WHAT SHOULD I WEAR TO A PHOTO SESSION?

Whatever you are comfortable in, but bearing in mind heavily patterned/logoed clothes will stand out and could be a distracting element in the finished product.  I would suggest tones that go well together, you probably dont want everyone wearing neutrals and one person wearing a bright colour.  For family photos you want to all look like your a team. Eliminating distracting elements will keep the viewers eye on the story been told and the connection between everyone in the photo.

If your really stuck put everyones clothes on the bed and see if anything jumps out at you.

WHAT HAPPENS IF IT RAINS OR THE WEATHER IS UNSUITABLE FOR AN OUTDOOR SHOOT? Family/Pet Portaits

If the weather turns bad and we are unable to photograph outside we can reschedule and book in another day and time that suits both parties.

WHY IS THERE A BOOKING FEE?

There is a booking fee of $50 for a family/pet portrait session.  This insures that we have both committed to the day and time agreed and i cant take any other bookings for this time.  This deposit is non-refundable.  If you wish to change the date or time then this can be discussed and arranged no later than 48 hrs.  The total amount of the photo session must be paid in order for you to receive your images.

WHAT IS THE PROCESS FOR ME AS A PHOTOGRAPHER?

For example - 1hr Family/Pet Session

I wish that i just turned up to a shoot an clicked the shutter button and went home uploaded the images to my clients.......

As a client you may think that you are just paying for the the 1 hr shoot? Unfortunately the cost of the 1 hour shoot includes travel to and from the photo location (within reason - over half hour to a location could be an extra cost to the client).  I then have to upload the images to my computer and sort them and do a basic edit.  This results in high resolution images that are ready to print. So there is a process involved and it does take some time to ensure the images are of good quality.

WHAT IS MY STYLE OF PHOTOGRAPHY?

My photos are candid/natural and fun.  Over processed/heavily photoshoped images are not generally my style as id rather be out and about taking the images than sitting behind the computer for longer than i need to be.

WHAT ARE YOU PAYING FOR?

The value is in the viewers eye......

Photography is an art form and a skill.  I am constantly learning and improving my skills , in the belief that i will never know everything.  I have invested money into my equipment and computer programs to edit/organise and store my images.  My time is valuable and the skills and knowledge i have gained is worth something.  Alot of the work is done outside of the time that i am taking the photos and around my full-time job and other commitments.  I do my best to get the images back to my clients as soon as i can, and am gratful for your patience and understanding.

WHAT IF YOU AREN'T COMFORTABLE INFRONT OF THE CAMERA?

Not many people are comfortable infront of the camera, including myself.  It's my job to provide a safe, fun and enjoyable experience.  Chances are you already look the part, but i can give tips or suggestions on how to stand? What to do with your hands etc.  I get everyone doing fun tasks so that you forget about the camera and we get some fun/candid photos that capture the emotions and story.
